There are two Drug-detoxification centres each at District hospital, viz. Asilo Hospital, Mapusa and Hospicio Hospital, Margao having 10 beds each. 

These centres promptly treat drug-addicted and alcoholic patients and problem of drug-abuse is dealt with systematically by rendering detoxification services at these centres. 

In addition, NGOs are also involved to participate to curb the problem to a great extent.
